UCF won. Again. We were on fire today.
It's scary in our stadium. Teams are going to start getting nervous to play us at home. The score was 44 to 23 against Tulsa, and Tulsa isn't just any team. We're both 4-3 overall. They're 2-2 conference but they've had one more conference game than us, we're 2-1. My hand hurts from all of the high fives. To have a team who we only went to because of the tailgating... to this. To the games that they have to bring police dogs to in case we rush the field. It's awesome. The students now may not understand, but the alumni went through a 16 game losing streak. We saw a lot.
My upcoming thoughts:
October 28 at Southern Miss - They're good, not one to fuck around with. We need to play really well and minimize the errors.
November 3 hosting Marshall- We have no excuse for this one, they're 0-6.
November 10 at UAB - Again, we're above them on the field. Plan on seeing them pummeled into the ground.
November 17 at SMU- Bottom of the barrel also. If we lose, our heads should be held down in shame.
November 24 hosting UTEP- We're going to have to bring it the hell on. Same record as us and they haven't been taking prisoners this year.
We got tickets. A friend of a friend had three tickets and we got all 3 for $100. It rocked. No one knows the CRAP we have gone through with our football team. Did you know they hold the record for one of the longest losing streak in college football history? Tonight we were playing Texas. Do you know Texas? Yeah, they're No 6 in the nation. We've been Division I for ohhh a year.
It was important because it was our new stadium.
We waited a long ass time for this, even if we weren't the best team. It was packed... 45,000 people. The game started... and we WEREN'T LOSING. Not only did we not suck but WE ROCKED. We were 20 point underdogs and yes we lost 32-35 but it was the best game I've ever watched.
In the middle of the game the sky opened up and it was POURING. No one left. Some people had ponchos, some people didn't (myself included) but we stood there SCREAMING in the rain. We were in the 4th quarter up 24 to 23... made a few mistakes and they got ahead to 35. We were SERIOUSLY about ready to start walking tot he car a little more than a minute remaining and they fumble and we get the ball. GOING CRAZY. With THIRTY FIVE seconds left we got another touchdown and THEN a 2 point conversion... and it didn't MATTER we didn't win. Texas is NUMBER SIX in the nation and we held our own. UCF claimed their turf, 3 points or not.
It's our house, now get out.
